Dear Yuletide Creator!
Firstly, I want you to have fun! First goal of yuletide is fun, ~~second is turning into a PH gremlin (that might just be me)~~ second is making fic gems for tiny fandoms.
'Opt-ins' which probably deserve a mention:
I'm very happy for you to create original characters/creatures/viewpoints to explore whatever worldbuilding aspects and timelines you want to play with.
Trans-headcanons, explorations, and queering of canons is always welcome. All Rule 63 methods and ideas always welcome. Queering any character or situation is always welcome.
Making something *more weird* is always welcome. If you want to take the historical blorbos, give them daemons, pop them on a spaceship where they're tattoo artists who learnt it in space prison? Go for it. I just don't like AUs which reduces the weird, so modern for historical fandoms, or no-magic for magic ones etc.
Crossovers are lovely. I explicitly said 'anything I've bookmarked or requested before', but you can also go for fandom blind if it allows for some level of outside pov to give me context. So if Chrestomanci drops into Criminal Minds, and it's Reid's pov of what the fuck is going on and wondering who Christopher is, or the other way around, with Christopher's pov on the Criminal Minds crew, the set up will absolutely give me joy and I'll read that blind and with delight.

Diana Wynne Jones - The Dalemark Quartet
Characters: Worldbuilding, Tanaqui
I'm happy with Worldbuilding and/or Tanaqui as the focus of the fic. Tanaqui is my favourite focal character, and I feel there's a lot of worldbuilding to go into for Weaving and magic and religion etc, but I'm very happy with Worldbuilding which doesn't take place in her timeline or overlaps with her interests.
Tanaqui: I love her devotion to her family, and the way she figures things out. The combination of practicality and craft and magic and storytelling and taking care of her family which is all tangled up in the idea of Weaving just makes my heart sing.
I love how Dalemark is a fantasy world which goes through phases and changes. Historical artifacts are being created in the weaving, and storytelling and songs and ballads are all intertwined with how the culture and gods and understanding are developed and change over time.
I love how even the geology changes within the series: the world changes, physically and culturally and technologically. We get so many slices of history within a world. We see the beginnings of new ways of living. We see the start of industrialisation, and the end of gods, and it's all just so Big.
I love the weaving as spells and storytelling and fabric. Dress historian examining Dalemark things? Linguists or mythology professors arguing meaning? A fed up college student's sarcastic essay on how no one could ever have believed that weaving could be magic?
Many Yuletides ago (8 years ago), a perfect human gifted me a Dalemark Quartet/Time Team mash up. The idea behind that is still so cherished to me. Dalemark is a fantasy continent which has *history* and geology and shifts on a grand scale, and anything which explores that is amazing, and anything which pastiches that way of exploring things...Still perfect. I also got a *lovely* crossover Dalemark this year for WorldbuildingEx. I love all these genius brains who come up with this stuff!

I would adore some aftermath fic about Kit's experience, and what he went through, and the things he learnt about himself. I'd love something about his relationships with his siblings, or his understanding of himself.
Worldbuilding... Oh, I wish I had proper prompts, but I mostly just have :bongocat: hands for any Worldbuilding. There's so many things to explore, and I just want you to have fun and play in the world.
There are so many possibilities about the aftermath of the tourists, and all these places which have been unended and rearranged for decades. Anything about how they advertised or dealt with the aftermath in the 'normal world'? How did anyone get travel insurance? Was there insurance fraud to go with the 'accidental' assassinations?
I'd love to know more about the magic systems, and manipulating magic and biology together. More politics? Politics and ramifications in the aftermath of Derkholm? I have a preference for the first book, obviously, but I'm happy with anything which builds or plays with information which we gather from either book.

Diana Wynne Jones - The Chronicles of Chrestomanci
Characters: Christopher Chant, Tacroy | Mordecai Roberts, Gabriel de Witt, Throgmorton
No need to fit all four characters into one fic, you can focus on a single character, one of these characters + another canon character, but a mild preference for at least two of these in some sort of relationship/interaction. Also, the chance of you matching on this and not having gone for 'Any' seems pretty slim, and I don't want to freak you out, lovely creator. If I had 7 character slots I would have gone for Millie, and the non-existent Asheth and Worldbuilding slots. I'm really flexible with Chrestomanci. I just adore them all.
Throgmorten: if you want to write something from Throgmorten's pov I will love you forever. He's such a cantankerous bastard (for good reasons), and I'd love his pov, his sphere of influence over other castle or Temple cats, his understanding of Christopher or Millie? Something about Throgmorten and Ralph's stand off, or maybe Throgmorten's experience with Asheth as a temple cat?
Christopher: Christopher is the blorbo of my heart. He's so overpowered, swave and clever and sneaky, and occasionally absolutely useless in his own way. I love him being clever and vivacious and sneaky. I love his realisation in LoCC that maybe he was only getting things because he was a cute kid travelling alone, and having to work for that type of influence later.
Tacroy breaks my heart. Eleven is so *deeply fucked up*, and the Tacroy's relationship and friendship with Christopher is amazing to me. I love all the ways he tries to redirect Christopher to better places, because he's been manipulated all his life, but he doesn't quite manage to save him. I absolutely love their loyalty to each other. I'd love to see Tacroy past or backstory, his pov during canon, or any aftermath which deals with it.
Anything in the future which looks at Tacroy and Christopher would be amazing.
Gabriel de Witt is so interesting to me. We only see him from the pov of people who are scared of him, or of what he represents, or what he might do to them, and I think he's probably rather sad under it all. He's chosen duty over people so often, and is isolated. I'd love to see him being vulnerable, or being seen as potentially vulnerable by Christopher or Tacroy. I'd love backstory or building his character or seeing some of his flaws or adventures or mistakes. Some more of the interpersonal conflict that Christopher and Gabriel inevitably have, or something more adult where grown Christopher trusts and relies on him, and goes to him for advice?

*Millie or Tacroy specific exception: a fic which is an outsider perspective on Christmas could be fun. Not if it is fluffy and sugary and Millie feels converted, but Millie as someone who is looking at these Heathen traditions and feeling outsider and unwelcome would be fun. Maybe Tacroy as a heathen like Millie is, but he was raised on in this world, so the outsider pov would likely be less defined.

If you want to give me an AU that fixes, that, I'll be all here for it. A Cara-lives AU, and Cara's the one who plots the revenge spree? Absolutely. I want to see what happens there.
If you want to go AU or just lost-moment for Cara... oh, that would be amazing. Please. An AU where Cara and Susan have a thing, and Cara lives, and James worships them from afar? Sure! An AU where Cara lives, and then Susan orders James to fuck her just the way she likes, and it's a happy thruple? Sure!

I love Susan taking charge and setting boundaries and things going wrong in lighthearted ways, and I'd love to see how she worked with Cara, and how Cara fit into her life.

I ship Maisie/Phoebe (and wouldn't want them to have an acrimonious break up), but I'm open to threesomes, polyshipping, het-ships for Maisie, an AU with Maisie/Will being together when they meet Kim & Phoebe etc. Go wild.
I didn't request Phoebe, because as much as I adore her and them together, and would be extremely happy with Maisie/Phoebe fic, I also would love Maisie backstory, or childhood, or her relationship with Will etc.

I feel like I'm just a gremlin asking for more for this one. More tension between Caroline and Rosamund. More of Rosamund just wanting the plot to be over because she's got plans. More of thehot enemy Leo, and Caroline shipping them so hard, and maybe Rosamund resisting just because she knows that Caroline is pushing this stupid thing.
Maybe Caroline knowing that the sensible voice of Rosamund is also her, and wondering why she isn't more sensible in her life? Maybe Caroline's motivations are dissecting the YA tropes that sell, so she keeps coming back to them, regardless of their silliness. She wants to be a successful author, and Rosamund is her inner voice asking why she doesn't want to be a good one? I love how Caroline definitely knows what she's doing and also has no clue at all. I would love Worldbuilding, or figuring out how they communicate etc in other ways as well?
