Happy Yuletide!

Overarcing loves: Almost anything. I love a good trope-filled romp, or a deliberate character study, or just interpersonal drama being complex and delicious. I would love things in a similar tone to these original texts, but if you want to take it a 180 and have a post-apocalypse Chrestomanci, go for it.

I love queer versions of things, and deep dives to dissect characters and their motivations, and I adore mental illness and neurodivergence and disability treated with respect and thought.

"Embarrassment humour"?: I don't like that type of comedy which relies on a person being embarrassed, or doing embarrassing things and not knowing they are embarrassing. Prat fall humour, the humour of The Office, or Ricky Gervais, or mistaken identity shenanigans. Had nightmares about Mrs Doubtfire as a child.

Explicit things: Any rating is fine, for either sex or violence. I'm good with any level of horror or gore or psychological terror. I'm good with all kink except scat/watersports.

Chronicles of Chrestomanci - Diana Wynne Jones
Character: Christopher Chant, Worldbuilding

I adore Christopher with all my heart, both when he is young, a bratty teen, and when he is an adult. Adventure, being fabulously competent, being Gabriel's nightmare, meeting up with whoever you fancy from DWJ's collective works, having sleepy mornings with Millie and the kids. If you want to write a scene with him at his tailor being picky about dressing gowns, I will be all over that.

Other suggestions: Cross generational working relationships would make me very happy. Christopher and Gabriel having a functional working relationship, when Gabriel is stepping back and Christopher is taking on more official duties and they have to figure out mutual respect and partnership things. Or Christopher and Cat, miscommunicating and flailing around each other. Millie being amazing. Christopher/Millie/Conrad being a happy poly family? Janet and Christopher, working out her new place in her new world?

I opted for Worldbuilding, because I adore this universe, and there are so many wiggly bits of the multiverse to explore. If you want to worldbuild without Christopher, that's okay.

Some worldbuilding things I really like: the idea of Chrestomanci as a government function, so if politics or bureaucracy etc works for you, it works for me too. Interworld politics would be beautiful.
History things: A historical dive into Chrestomanci world, or playing with the time it's set in (and when other worlds are at the same time).
Development of technology in worlds with magic is beautiful.
DWJ's magic being weird and magical: if you want to deep dive into some aspect of magic which appears in these books, I'd love it. Example: Nature magic in Chrestomanci? Just, there's a lot of it, and it is weird, and if you want to do weird things with it, hurrah!

DNW: embarrassment humour

Lord Peter Wimsey - Dorothy L Sayers
Character: The Dowager Duchess, Honoria Lucasta Wimsey

The Dowager brings me great joy. (Peter also brings me all the joy.) Honoria with her sensitive little boy Peter, future-himbo Gerald, and feisty little Mary, would be amazing to read. Honoria and Peter trying to not step on each other's toes when Peter has just come back from the war (or Honoria having intense chats with Bunter to manage Peter, at any time really). Honoria bitching to her friends like it's gossip girl or Bridgerton, and her Peter is really just too good for all their daughters? I am here for anything. Grumpy grandma Honoria, scaring Charles about everything. Honoria and Kitty Climpson getting on like a house on fire. Honoria having a scandalous lover or three tucked away? I adore her in all the ways.

DNW: embarrassment humour, scat, watersports

The Will Darling Adventures - K.J. Charles
Characters: Maisie Jones, Phoebe Stephens-Prince

I'd love some of their adventures; some of their smutty moments in Paris; some of Maisie teaching Phoebe a thing or two; some things which Phoebe gets to teach Maisie.

I really love these two as business partners as well as lovers, so if you want to ramble around in the fashion world I would be delighted. The two of them against the bright young things, armed with excellent hats? Maisie learning about French food, or the two of them holidaying down near Maisie's folk?

I also love Will and Kim a ferocious amount, so pop them in to your heart's content, if that's the way your muse runs.

Or maybe some future situation, where Kim/Will and Phoebe/Maisie are two pairs cohabitating in a poly-adjacent (or actually poly?) front for the wider world. Maybe Maisie and Will got married, for the optics of it all, and are ‘living in the mews’ out back, and this is how the four of them figure out ways to keep themselves all safe going forward. If you want to deal with how these two, or all four, manage their lives going forward from the books, I would adore that. Sad, or fluffy, or sexy. All of it would be amazing.

If you want to do a character study of either of these lovely ladies in a time before they meet each other, feel free to only pick one to work with. I'd love to see either of them as a child/teen/young adult, sorting their priorities out and facing the world.

DNW: embarrassment humour, major character death, scat, watersports

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (2020)
Character: Harley Quinzel

I adored the tone of this movie, and all the characters. Play in this hyper-real, techni-coloured sandbox however you will.

An adventure? A fuck up? A diatribe over Gotham's mental health services? A messed up power-trip of a sex scene? A custody battle over Cass between Harley and Renee? A happy coparenting scenario of Cass by Harley and Dinah? A really highstakes roller blading lesson? Bringing in Poison Ivy as Harley's new beau and seeing how it all falls out?

I am one of the folks who think that this Cass Cain, while delightful, doesn't fit with Cass from the comics. Not sure what to do with that there, but just... I guess trying to squish this Cass and comics canon Cass together is in the DNW category. This Cass is lovely, and I adore her, but trying to smash comics canon in here would make my head explode. (But also I think they should have sex-swapped street kid Jason and it would have made a lot more sense. Or invented a new character, because they are the canon gods and are allowed to do that.)

DNW: embarrassment humour, the Joker (can be mentioned, I don't want him to be on screen/a big deal), heterosexual sex scene, scat, watersports.
